University Cooperation for the Progress of Civil Society in Palestine

Bethlehem, 26-27 February 2005

Over 130 participants  - rectors, vice-rectors, senior level academics, directors of international relations offices and students - from 32 universities in Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom) and from Palestine attended the International Conference on "University Cooperation for the Progress of Civil Society in Palestine", which was held in Bethlehem on 26 and 27 February 2005. The Palestinian participants included also representatives of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Palestinian National Authority and of various NGOs and scientific and professional organizations. Representatives of UNESCO, UNDP, European Commission and of the Diplomatic Missions in Jerusalem were also present.
