Avicenna Knowledge Centers (AKC) have been set up in the 15 countries participating in Avicenna, to serve as network nodes. Al Quds Open University serves as the Avicenna Knowledge Centre for Palestine. The Center has been set up at Al Quds Open University to act as the Project national focal point and service node for Palestine. The PEACE Programme wishes to co-operate with Al Quds Open University to build up the capacity to perform that function efficiently. At the same time, given the special situation in Palestine, the PEACE Programme could provide assistance in order to develop the infrastructure facilities and service capacities for Avicenna at as many individual institutions as possible. More specifically, The PEACE programme could assist in mobilizing additional resources to set up workstations for Avicenna at Palestinian universities, along the lines foreseen for the Project.
