How to join PEACE

 

An official letter, signed by the President/Rector of the University (or by another person authorised by him/her) should be sent to the PEACE Programme Office in UNESCO. The letter should express the decision of the University to join the PEACE Programme.

Membership starts upon receiving of the official application and communication of acceptance by the Chairman of the PEACE Programme. It is then confirmed by vote at the subsequent session of the General Assembly.

In keeping with the By Laws of the PEACE Programme an annual membership fee, based on student enrolment, is perceived from member-universities.

 

    500 € for universities with less than 10,000 students 
    750 € for universities with less than 20,000 students 
 1,000 € for universities with over than 20,000 students 
 2,000 € for collective membership of university networks


The membership fee, introduced in 1996 has proved very useful. It is used primarily to finance scholarships, research studies and academic mobility for Palestinian students. A small part is used also for the running expenses of the Programme.
